Interviews
Tim Christmas - Team Boss
What is your favourite race? My favourite race has always been the 24h at the Nurburgring its over 17km with more than 80 bends you always seem to be learning something new every race there, especially when its dark at about midnight what fun!
What's your scariest moment at the wheel of a racing car? This was at a 4hr race at the Nurburging in the Autumn of 2003. I was traveling over 150 mph when my rear left tyre caught a wet patch sending me of track backwards towards the barriers from there i bounced off into the path of oncoming cars I still dont know how they managed to avoid me.
What is the secret of winning? Good preparation you have to know the track your racing on and that the race car is set up for that track without that knowledge you wont win.
What iconic sporting figures have influenced you? People like Jack Nicklaus and Michael Shumaker. They always seem to be well prepared and single minded on what their doing and it shows by their results.
What is your favourite track? Probably the Nurburgring for reaons i gave earlier however Spa Franchamps is a very close second not as long as the "Ring" but still and old fashioned race track that just makes you want to drive fast.
What does it feel like to nail the perfect qualifying lap? Very satisfying after all the work that gone on before you get there , when you drive that lap you know its hooked up perfectly without looking at the clock you feel it like a sixth sense all the apexes were nailed throttle balance perfect.
What is the favourite car you've ever raced? Well to ask a race driver that is very difficult as its usually the car his driving that weekend , however BMW 3 series race cars are just so much fun from E30s through to E46s they take some beating.
